Care Supervisor (Part Time), North Kent

Location: Based at our Gravesend office, covering the North Kent Branch
Hours: Part time
Salary: £25,000 to £27,000 per annum full-time equivalent, pro rata for part-time hours, plus on-call allowance

We are looking for an experienced, confident and personable Care Supervisor to join our North Kent Branch on a part-time basis, based at our Gravesend office. This role is primarily focused on supporting and managing our field team of carers, ensuring they are well supported, well supervised, and delivering the highest standard of care. This role reports to the Registered Manager.

This role suits someone who takes real ownership of their responsibilities and sees things through to completion, rather than someone looking for a strictly nine-to-five role. There is potential for this role to move to full time in the future, with further opportunity to progress into a management role.

Key responsibilities

  • Support and manage the field team of carers across North Kent
  • Support Team Leaders to complete supervisions and spot checks with carers, stepping in to ensure these are completed on time when Team Leaders are unable to due to their own field commitments
  • Personally carry out appraisals, probation reviews and supervision meetings with carers
  • Act as a first point of contact for carers, resolving day-to-day issues promptly and professionally
  • Provide cover for rota coordination and for calls or shifts when the Coordinator is off or unavailable, so a working knowledge of rota basics is essential
  • Provide cover for client management responsibilities when the Care Manager is off or unavailable
  • Provide input into recruitment and disciplinary processes for the field team
  • Participate in the on-call rota, including covering shifts or calls as required
  • Support induction and ongoing development of carers
  • Act as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns, escalating and documenting appropriately
  • Support CQC compliance, audits and inspection readiness
  • Ensure compliance with care standards, policies and regulatory requirements

What we are looking for

  • Significant experience in a domiciliary or home care setting
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards, with full company support)
  • Strong understanding of the supervisory role and its responsibilities
  • Confidence and capability to step into rota, carer-management and client-management duties when covering colleagues
  • Excellent people skills with a warm, approachable and professional manner
  • Ability to lead, motivate and support a field-based team
  • Flexible and willing to take part in an on-call rota, including evenings and weekends as required
  • A hands-on, ownership mindset: someone who follows things through to resolution rather than clocking off with urgent issues unresolved
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
